9/10/20: Welcome to our classroom!
7/29/20: Following Chesterfield County’s decision to begin public school with online learning, the Preschool Board made the difficult decision to cancel the 2’s and 3’s classes. The teachers for these classes had no option but to stay home for their children. The 4’s/Pre-K class will make use of the larger available space and allow for a total enrollment of 12 children.
5/4/20: Our preschool staff is sad that we will not be able to celebrate the many accomplishments of our students by having our Graduation/Moving Up Ceremony. Our dedicated teachers and assistants miss the children and all expressed the sentiment, “We weren’t done yet.” We are gradually collecting artwork, ABC books, and the Pre-K children’s Science Journals and filling out diplomas and certificates. All will be mailed this month. The Four’s/Pre-K children will also receive a graduation cap and a children’s Bible story book. While the office is closed for now the school is open for enrollment.
4/24/20: Music fun for your preschooler from Jeff Beatman and TonyTunes! These two performers regularly post video shows on their Facebook pages. Jeff Beatman is a yearly regular at the Preschool, and we hope to add TonyTunes to our monthly special events.
4/16/20: Click the YouTube icon to go to Lutheran Church of Our Saviour‘s channel for weekly children’s sermons from Pastor Katie!
3/23/20: In accordance with Chesterfield County Public Schools, The Giving Tree Preschool is closing for the remainder of the 2019-2020 academic year. See a letter from Mary, Preschool Director, below.
As Governor Northam has announced that public schools will be closed for the remainder of the year, it is with a very heavy heart to have to say that The Giving Tree Preschool is also closed for the remainder of the school year. The events of the last few weeks have unfolded so quickly it is so hard to grasp. First and foremost, the safety of our students, their families, and our staff are paramount. Please know that our staff is in shock as well that we will not be able to finish teaching your children. It is hard for all of us and your children, especially, to comprehend the abrupt closing of school without a proper “goodbye.” We all have enjoyed teaching your children and watching them learn, gain confidence in their abilities, and have such fun with their friends. I wish we could have celebrated their accomplishments with a Graduation. The teachers are working on finalizing your child’s evaluation and they will be mailed to you later this week. Tuition that has been paid for April, and a few for May, will be refunded to you. This could take about a week or so. You may always contact me at the preschool email: firstname.lastname@example.org. We all look forward to an end of the current situation and cannot wait for school to start in September. I want to thank you so much for your support of your children and the preschool staff and entrusting your children with us.
God bless you all,
